RELATED: Warzone: 10 Underrated Season 1 Loadouts That Are Actually Good

Avid Warzone players know that there are still a number of issues with the Cold War attachments, including the Cold War sights. Raven has responded to the community, and players expect many of the attachment bugs to be resolved with the other issues plaguing the game before Season 2. Players should use the below attachments and reticles for their guns in Warzone, which are ranked from worst to best.

Updated on June 14th, 2021 by Payton Lott: In the past couple of months, Raven made a host of changes to all of the Cold War attachments, including many of the optics. All of the long-range sniper scopes now have glint, making them less effective in general. The medium-range optics have all been changed in the past few weeks, reducing their optical zoom noticeably. The Axial Arms 3x used to have 4x zoom for example.

As a result of all these changes, using a 3x or 4x as with a sniper is not really viable. Cold War snipers are in a weird place in Season Three, with the Kar98k being the obvious aggressive sniper and the HDR remaining the most accurate at longer ranges. The rankings have been adjusted to reflect all of Raven’s alterations.

17 Noch Sova Thermal

Many of the thermal sights are just not practical in Warzone, even though the Modern Warfare thermal sights are not usable anymore. Players should stay away from the thermal optics unless they are sniping at long range. The Noch Sova Thermal is only a 2.3x magnification optic and is a bottom-tier sight in the game.

16 AN/PVS-4 Thermal

While the thermal sight is better than the Modern Warfare thermal optics, it is essentially a gimmick. If a night mode returns to Verdansk or on a new map, the sight could be useful.

However, the optic takes up too much of the screen and its low magnification makes it difficult to use in Warzone. In Rebirth, it could have a niche role since few players still use Cold Blooded.

15 SnapPoint

The SnapPoint is a sub-par red dot sight. It is usable, but the square shape of the sight makes it harder to identify enemies, and players can choose from a number of better optics. It is a bottom-tier sight given the option because of how many Cold War red dot sights are in the game.

14 Fastpoint Reflex

Players will notice that the Fastpoint Reflex looks almost identical to the monocle reflex sight from Modern Warfare. Some players may prefer the eccentric sight, but most are better off using a more traditional red dot optic.

13 Kobra Red Dot

The Kobra Red Dot Optic is usable, but there are a few better close-range optics to choose from. The fact that the sight is mounted higher than several others makes it one of the worst close-range red dot sights.

12 Diamondback Reflex

The Diamondback and the Kobra sight are similar optics to use in close-range situations. The sight can be used, but the below choices will be just a fraction better. The base of the sight provides enough of an obstruction and distraction to keep it toward the bottom of the list.

11 Hawksmoor

Similar to the Sillix, the Hawksmoor optic is quite obstructing. There are far better options for players who would like to use a close to medium range optic. For most players, square optics just simply do not feel good in-game. The reticle itself is good, but the mount and frame make it troublesome to see though.

10 Hangman RF

The Hangman RF is another sight that resembles the VLK from Modern Warfare, but with a 6x zoom. The sight is not cluttered with lines and will be a great optic for players that like to extend the ranges of tactical rifles.

Given the current state of Cold War snipers, it is much more common to see a stock scope instead of the Hangman RF. Players will want to either maximize velocity or speed, eliminating the need for an intermediate to long-range sight.

9 Ultrazoom Custom

The Ultrazoom custom can zoom in up to 20x, but it now has sniper glint. The HDR or AX-50 are better suited for the long-range meta, and as a consequence, the extremely long-range optic is not preferable.

Also, at high zoom, the sight picture is very limited. Until we see a change in the viability of long-range Cold War weapons, sticking with a 4x makes more sense.

8 Sillix Holoscout

The Sillix sight is bulky and square, obstructing players’ field of view and making it more difficult to identify enemies. That being said, the holographic attachment is a solid choice for medium-range gunfights because it provides a higher zoom than a red dot.

There are several superior sights for close to mid-range encounters, and the Holoscout should only be used by those that need a replacement for a Modern Warfare Holographic.

7 SUSAT Multizoom

The SUSAT Multizoom is a decent optic. The magnification in the center of the sight’s reticle distorts the view of enemy players though. One of the great benefits of using the SUSAT is the reduction in visual recoil.

It is easy to keep the reticle centered and have an accurate aim with no recoil. Nerfs to the sights optical zoom limit the sight’s potential as a VLK 3.0 replacement.

6 Vulture Custom Zoom

The Vulture Custom Zoom is a great optic to use on tactical rifles or sniper rifles and the 1x-10x sight makes it quite versatile. The scope appears to be a sniper optic, but it can be used at medium ranges with tactical rifles. The sight has minimal visual recoil and is viable up to several hundred meters.

Despite the benefits, it can be annoying clicking a bunch of times to change the range when fighting from far away. If gamers can find a zoom they like it can be a mid-tier option.

5 Millstop Reflex

The Millstop is a good optic and can be used at close to medium range. Despite the fact that it has a clean sight and is easy to use, the Quickdot and Microflex LED sights are just better.

All of the reflex and red dot sights are best when used with the stock reticle.

4 Royal & Kross 4x

While the 4x sight is helpful when tracking down enemies at intermediate ranges, the frame is too thick.  Players will miss enemies in their periphery while trying to take down an opponent at distance.

All of the reticles for the Royal & Kross are usable, but the precision and clean living reticles are the best for the optic. The 4x was the main Cold War sniper sight until its visual zoom was nerfed like the other versatile choices.

3 Visiontech 2x

The Visiontech is an adaptable and accurate sight that will be preferable in medium to long-range gunfights. The sight does have a fair amount of visual recoil, which is the main reason it is not at the top of the list. Players should use the precision or clean living reticles depending on their preference.

2 Microflex LED

The Microflex is the best of the red dot sights and should be used on guns that do not have a usable iron sight. The optic does not have any distortion with a very thin frame, which allows players to see more of the map when aiming down sight. Players should use the stock reticle, as the other options are purely aesthetic.

1 Axial Arms 3x

Players should use the Axial Arms 3x on any weapon that is kitted for medium to long-range engagements. The optic provides a zoom similar to the VLK 3.0x optic from Modern Warfare and is a comparable sight to use on Cold War weapons.

While there is some visual recoil with the optic, the sight is the best all-around to use on assault rifles and LMGs. Players should use the precision reticle. A slight change to the zoom makes the 3x even more like the VLK, and it should be the number one choice for an automatic primary.
