Announced just a few days ago, Warped Kart Racers is an upcoming Apple Arcade exclusive cart racer that puts players in the computer-drawn shoes of a variety of popular adult animation characters. With the Fox/20th Century license propelling this cart racer forward, players can look forward to jumping behind the wheel of Hank Hill’s lawnmower, colliding with Peter Griffin, and zooming past the alien cast of Solar Opposites. While the starting roster of 20 characters from Family Guy, American Dad, Solar Opposites, and King of the Hill is impressive, there’s room for more.

Bob’s Burgers

The first set of characters that should head to Warped Kart Racers as DLC are the cast of Bob’s Burgers. Another family-oriented adult animation, Bob’s Burgers manages to stand out from the crowd by delivering characters that feel so utterly genuine that audiences can’t help but feel connected to their daily struggles and scrapes.

The entire Belcher family would fit right into Warped Kart Racers, each with their own unique cart. Bob could drive a mini version of the family’s red sedan, while Gene could ride in an oversized cardboard hamburger, a reference to the burger costume he wears throughout the show.

Futurama

One of the best animated shows of the early 2000s, Futurama’s cast of zany characters would make another great addition to Warped Kart Racers. Putting in characters like Zoidberg and Bender would go a long way to making the game look a little more varied, as many of the game’s current racers have pretty similar color palettes and visual designs.

When it comes to Futurama-themed carts, there’s plenty of inspiration to draw from. The most obvious choice for a Futurama cart is, of course, the lime green Planet Express Ship, which is a focal point of just about every episode of the show since the crew uses it to hop between planets. Just about any of the main Futurama cast could sit behind the ship’s wheel, but it would make the most sense for Leela to be in the pilot’s seat, with her being its captain.

For the rest of the cast, there are a ton of miscellanous flying cars that appear throughout the show that would make for exciting cart designs. For Bender, though, there could be something a little more unique. Rather than be sat in a cart, Bender could be the cart, with a design based on his Were-Car appearance from “The Honking” episode.

The Simpsons

Though its popularity and public reception may have waned a little in recent years, The Simpsons is still an incredibly influential show, and not throwing in the classic cast of characters seems like a bit of a waste for Warped Kart Racers. Of course, the entire Simpsons family should make an appearance, and for their carts, there’s already plenty of inspiration out there, with games like Simpsons Hit & Run and Road Rage including a wide range of Simpsons-themed vehicles.

One of the best aspects of The Simpsons has always been its Springfield-sized secondary cast, each one more unique and memorable than the last. Picking just a handful of the show’s most popular secondary characters would likely add a lot of variety to Warped Kart Racers.

Warped Kart Racers is in development for iOS through Apple Arcade.
