Leyou confirmed the next-gen ports during an earnings report, where it stated that Digital Extremes is “preparing to expand Warframe to more platforms, such as the next-generation consoles and other devices.” Leyou confirmed that the game had experienced a 12.2% drop in revenue, which the company attributed to other games diverting attention away from Warframe.

Thus far, few games have been confirmed for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The 7-year-old Warframe is one of the most popular free-to-play games on the market. It may serve as a major draw for dedicated players looking for a better experience overall.
The new consoles have yet to receive actual release dates yet, though both Sony and Microsoft have addressed potential delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, with both companies stating that the release should be unaffected. If that is the case, players should be able to get their hands on the consoles this holiday season.
Warframe is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
