Warcraft Arclight Rumble is Blizzard’s newest mobile game project. Marketed as a “tower offense” game, Warcraft Arclight Rumble takes players back to the era of Vanilla World of Warcraft for a light-hearted, skirmish-based RTS experience. The free-to-play mobile title is currently in development but has no release date.

Players interested in giving Warcraft Arclight Rumble a spin have another chance to get into the beta. All players have to do to enter the contest is make a public post on Twitter asking nicely to be added while tagging the official Warcraft Arclight Rumble account. The contest runs through November 16, after which Warcraft Arclight Rumble will select 50 winners to invite to the beta. Players who enter the contest should make sure their Twitter accounts are able to accept direct messages so they can be contacted with the next steps to access the beta.
After its announcement in May, Warcraft Arclight Rumble has been slowly admitting players into its beta testing but has otherwise been relatively silent. Beyond a handful of development updates and the occasional beta access contest, Warcraft Arclight Rumble has given little information, let alone a release schedule. This is probably because Blizzard doesn’t want Warcraft Arclight Rumble’s launch to be buried beneath World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s imminent release or Hearthstone’s incoming March of the Lich King expansion.
That said, players are still definitely interested in Warcraft Arclight Rumble. Over 300 Warcraft fans had already entered the sweepstakes by commenting on the Warcraft Arclight Rumble post, and many others through original tweets. The players who entered used the opportunity to show off their long history with the Warcraft franchise, show off their collections of Blizzard gear, and, of course, make some pretty funny jokes about how excited they were for Warcraft Arclight Rumble.
Some players have concerns over Warcraft Arclight Rumble, however. Blizzard’s recent history with microtransactions does not inspire hope–Diablo Immortal and Overwatch 2 have been the subject of significant criticism over their predatory business models, and even Hearthstone has drawn flack with the recent inclusion of the new Runestone currency. Luckily, Warcraft Arclight Rumble has limitations on RMT to ensure players cannot simply throw hundreds of dollars at the game to collect every mini instantly and doesn’t use a gacha system. While Warcraft Arclight Rumble seems to have some pay-to-win elements in beta now, players will have to see how the game looks in release before making a final judgment call.
Warcraft Arclight Rumble is currently in development for iOS and Android devices.
