The actor’s already done it once. Goldblum shared a video on Instagram on Friday of him recreating the JP scene in which his Dr. Ian Malcolm explains the Chaos Theory. (To be honest, the choice of scene feels extremely appropriate for the moment.) The 67-year-old shared the video as a “reward” for the 1,000 people who took voting action through headcount.org, a nonpartisan organization encouraging young people to participate in the democratic process.

“If 1,000 of you register to vote, or check your registration status, or request a mail-in ballot (use the link in my bio!), I will recreate a classic Dr. Ian Malcolm moment from Jurassic Park,” Goldblum promised on Wednesday. Within 48 hours, the goal was reached.

“That was fast! We’ve already hit 1,000 voting actions,” Goldblum wrote on Instagram on Friday. “As a reward, please enjoy this re-enactment of the ‘Chaos Theory’ scene with my original costars @samneilltheprop and @lauradern!”

“AND! If we get 1,000 more voting actions through @headcountorg (link in bio), I will post another classic Jurassic Park reenactment,” he added.

Sam Neill, who portrayed Dr. Alan Grant in Steven Spielberg’s classic film, stood in for his other co-star, Laura Dern, for the re-enactment, as Goldblum placed droplets of water on the back of his hand. “You’ve got slight imperfections in your hand like that,“Goldblum notes while explaining the Chaos Theory.

Neill looks shocked, conjuring his best Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Goldblum compliments his soft skin. “I don’t know if I’m scared or excited,” Neill says, as Goldblum drops more water on his hand.

Before Goldblum can get more in depth with his character’s hypothesis, Dern butts in, laughing. “I’ve seen this before!” she exclaims from outside the library where the scene is being filmed. “Where have you seen this before?” Goldblum asks her.

Neill jokingly insists it “never happened” to him before, and Dern fires back, “It happened to me! Watch your back.”

Goldblum has been very vocal about getting his followers to vote in the upcoming presidential election. On National Vote Registration Day, he, Neill and Dern reunited wearing matching “VOTE” masks and t-shirts. (Goldblum opted for a mask that read, “Clever Girl” imposed onto the Jurassic Park logo, in reference to another iconic line from the film.)

“It’s more important than ever that we all use our voices and participate in our democracy. I am partnering with HeadCount.org to make sure you are #GoodToVote,” Goldblum captioned the JP reunion post on Instagram, shared on September 22. He added that his followers should “stay tuned” for incentives to vote.

Fingers crossed that the next scene Goldblum recreates involves a dinosaur.
