With Black Friday and Cyber Monday right around the corner, major retailers are restocking for the big sales. Many people will be trying to get their hands on a new Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 console, and Walmart is giving Walmart+ members early access to the hardware.

Walmart Plus subscribers can start shopping online at 3 PM Eastern on Monday, November 22nd. Everyone else will have to wait until 7 PM, with the in-person deals beginning on Black Friday proper, November 26th. This gives Walmart+ subscribers a full 4-hour head start over other online shoppers. Considering that next-gen consoles often sell out within minutes, that’s a pretty big advantage for Walmart+ members. Note that only paying members get to start shopping early. Those with a Walmart+ free trial will have to wait until later that evening when the items open up for everyone else.
The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 usually retail new for $499. Meanwhile, the PS5 Digital Edition and Series S typically retail for $399 and $299, respectively. However, third-party sellers are asking for significantly more. Some PS5 bundles are going for more than $1000 online. It’s reaching the point where finding regular-priced consoles almost feel like catching a sale on its own. While it is debatable if grabbing one console is worth the monthly fee, it’s undoubtedly an excellent opportunity for anyone who’s already a Walmart+ subscriber.
Other early access items include the Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle and Xbox wireless controllers in various colors. In addition, subscribers will also get first access to multiple games, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, among others. However, none of that sounds quite as enticing as an early chance to snag the elusive next-gen consoles.
